Honestly, we never ended up staying here. When we checked in at the nearby Fairview Guesthouse per the instructions sent upon booking, we were immediately told by the clerk at the desk that she would be doing us a "deed" by allowing us to stay at the Guesthouse hotel rather than the B&, though we would be charged an additional 5 Euro per person for the privilege. My guess is that if would have refused enough times, she would have just let us stay at the hotel without incurring the extra cost. It seems that they simply didn't want to have to maintain the B&B this was an off-season visit. Ultimately, of course, this was a classic bait-and-switch due to the up charge. Admittedly, we allowed it to happen, but it's probably not the best business practice. I will add, though, the the Fairview Guesthouse was very nice, and we did enjoy our stay.SSSSS

The location was perfect. Just a block off the main drag with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The room itself was nice and cozy. They advertise themselves as a bed and breakfast but breakfast is not included - it's an additional €10 per person per day. We didn't understand this when we booked so if we wanted breakfast at a bed and breakfast it was going to be €60 additional for the 2 days we where there. The other thing we did not like was not a lounge/dinning room or common area. There was a lounge/reception area down the street at the Fairview which owns this B&B but nothing at this location.SSSSS

A very lovely place operated by a completely wonderful owner!
The breakfast is a special treat. Don't miss the extraordinary gardens--beautiful, meticulously tended, with plants from all over the world. It was a highlight of our trip.SSSSS
